Earlier this month, Pickering Associates joined the leadership and staff of WVU at Parkersburg in celebrating the opening of their new One-Stop Enrollment Center. The Enrollment Center was designed to better serve the college’s students by combining and streamlining the financial aid, registration and enrollment process.

Architect Traci Stotts and Designer Sarah Arnold worked with faculty and staff to accommodate all provided student services and ensure that students were able to easily move from one department to the next. Previously, students were standing in the hallways and outside offices throughout the school taking care of scheduling, financial aid and advising. The new center uses a triage space to determine what a students needs to do, and to direct students to advisors for enrollment, financial aid, registration, admissions and academics. Included is a comfortable waiting area, and a new testing facility.

“We started with the idea of consolidating all of our student services into one central location,” WVU-P President Fletcher Lamkin said. “It provides a convenient, efficient way for our students to deal with the many issues they do have to deal with administratively. This center is not only going to save students time, but it will send a strong message that we care about you and we want you to succeed. This is not just a physical facility, it is a philosophy of caring about our students.”

On March 10th, a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was held with university officials, students and community members to commemorate the completion of the Center.
